Juka was a very special member to our family. He kept us safe and would have gladly given his in order to keep my family safe. After 12 wonderful years his health continued to diminish. It was the hardiest decision I have ever had to make, the decision to say goodbye to my best friend who was always happy to see me no matter what kind of mood I was in and eager to bring a smile to my face with his silly antics. As many of you may already know, Juka protected the educational birds and it was not uncommon to see him laying right next to one of the birds or sneaking a drink out of one of the birds water bowls. He was a very special friend, and family member.
Jo Gilley was born in Oregon and lived most of her life in western Washington. Jo was a techie for Boeing and truly enjoyed birding, she especially liked raptors and said she's planning on coming back as a redtail hawk. she was only 52 when she passed away from cancer. She is truly missed and loved. Keep an eye overhead, she might be watching you! With love always Dave Templeton.
